Dahlia in Pink

This painting is a whole new medium for me.  New ....meaning it was done with Watercolor Pencils on 8 x 10 Arches 140 CP watercolor paper.  I have painted in watercolors before out of the tube but never with the pencils.  I must say I enjoyed this method of painting.  Hope to do more in the near future.  I want to give credit to Rosalind Amorin for the great photo reference.

"Zoey"

This special little Havanese named "ZOEY" is a very dear pet which belongs to my daughter Kerry and her family.  She has become part of our lives here also.  I have been wanting to do a portrait of her for the longest time.  I did this in colored pencils on 9 x 12 Art Spectrum colourfix paper.  I used mostly Prismacolor and for highlights I enjoy using Polychromo white.  In her eyes I used acrylic white to give them a great highlight.
Always look forward to all critiques and comments.

KEMBA !!!

This  happy part Pitbull/Boxer is our latest member of Kerry's family.  He was rescued from an animal shelter.  Her daughter "Shayne Katherine" took this picture and I used it to do this colored pencil painting.
It was done on 6 x 8 UArt 500 grit paper, using Prismacolor, Polychromos and Lyra Polycolor pencils.  For the high light in his eyes I used a pin drop of white acylic paint.
I get alot of pleasure doing paintings of dogs.  So keep checking and comments are always welcome!

"Signs of Autumn"

This was done with about 3 or 4 reference photos from which I consolidated into this final Fall landscape.  This painting is done on a  12 x 16 Unison Pastel hardboard.
I used Prismacolor pencils and Artstix along with Polychromos and Cran D'arche Neocolors II.  I also did use OMS (odorless mineral spirits) with the Neocolors.  I have found that this method does save time and your able to cover alot more ground.

Always look forward to all comments...
