he always had his tongue out !!! LOL
I did this painting on 11 x 7 Uart Pastel Paper 600 grit.
Did this with Prismacolor and Lyra Colored Pencils.
All comments are most welcome!

"Apples Galore"

This 9 x 12 colored pencil painting was done on white Strathmore Bristol Vellum paper.
I am really starting to like the results one gets with layering many coats of colored pencils and blending.
It took about a week and a half to get these final results.

I donated this painting to Our Live Auction at St Thomas Church in Bethel, CT on May 14, 2011.
Enjoy and feel free to comment.

Abandoned Barn

This painting was done a few years back. I have it listed on my Artwanted.com portfolio. I have had many kind remarks about this work.

One person in particular liked my painting and wrote a poem about it called "Abandoned Barn". This was written by Faye Facer.

"ABANDONED BARN"
Lonely old barn upon a hill,
Together with an old wind mill.
No cows to come home .
To city farmer has gone,
Only the wind visits the hill.
Woodpecker hammers on tin.
Mice frequent the old feed bin.
Pigeons in the loft.
Nestlings cooing soft,
Abandoned barn, lost and grim
And the wind still comes to play,
Sets the old windmill to sway.
Dust devils go whirrling by
Odd times a cayote will cry,
'Cause the farmer has gone away.
by Faye Facer
Many thanks Faye this is beautiful and enhances my "Abandoned Barn"

Peach Lake Plein Aire Painting

I finally got to meet up with the LHVPAP, Lower Hudson Valley Plein Air Painters group last week. This paint out was held at Peach Lake, NY. It has been a while since I painted on sight!
This painting was done with Golden's Open Acrylic paints on 12 x 16 cold pressed 300 lbs. white paper. Was a mixed cloudy day and I used the acrylic paints more like watercolors.
Really enjoyed my time and to do more plein aire painting in the future.
Let me know what you think always appreciate all comments!

Early Morning Fisherman

After retiring for the 2nd time in January on my birthday I have now started to paint again.
Feel like I was in a blank spot for a while. Hence I have taken time to do a pastel painting.
What is better than painting a portrait of my son James fishing on a Summer vacation on the Bonnet Shores of Rhode Island one early morning.
I am quite happy on how this has turned out. It was painted on watercolor paper, smooth side with pastels and pastel pencils.
